My recently purchased 99 X-1 came with out any mirrors. Checked out the local Harley dealer, seems like the mirrors they have in stock have too small stems, or threaded area. Are Buell mirrors metric ? Ive tried my metric thread pitch gauge and nothing fits? Any suggestions other then bar ends? |

Aprilla Touno's (spell)from American Sport Bike are a good alternative to the oem lolly pops. |

+1 on the aprilia mirrors. They are great compared to the stock lollies. |

Found a very cool looking billet mirror at my local jap bike shop. Its not real big and fits the lines of the bike nicely. I can even see whats behind me, if I dip my left arm a bit.Surprisingly clear as long as the revs are over 3K, below that? I couldn't tell you if it was a car or a truck, but at least Now I know somethings there. |

if bar ends interest you, go to a local bike shop (bicycle) and look for third eye mirrors. they're $12 each and easily mount inside the end of the bars. You'll just have to cut a ring out of the end of the grip to gain access to the inside of the bars. even being designed for bicycles, the third eyes on my X1 have been great. I can't identify make/model of what's behind me but that's tough to pull of with 1250cc vibes pumping through the bike. Also after a minor tip-over accident this summer, I'm loving the fact that the broken mirror can be replaced for 12 bucks. |

Just today I ordered a set of brand new Napoleon bar end mirrors off flea bay. If you like the looks of bar ends Napoleons give the best view of any mirrors I've ever used. I've had them on several bikes but they're out of production now and difficult to come by. At least I was told by my local shop that they're out of production. |

Napolean mirrors got hard to get for a little while, but we still have them and can get them, http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5072.html That said, they aren't my cup of tea. I have bar end mirrors on most of my bikes, but they're all CRGs. These new Arrow CRGs the ones I just put on my S1W: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5569.html Pricey, but they are WAY cool and work really well. Al |
