Lets start with this.
Just Bought my 99 Lightning and its in need of some improvements.
First of all, a better seat.. The origional pushes me forward, squishing the man junk while riding.Very uncomfortable, there has to be a better way.
While I have you here, lets talk repair manuals. I see a number of them on line to buy. What would you suggest,If you needed the best or the most complete?

I have an M2 and bought a Corbin... huge improvement over stock though I'm not terribly impressed with the fit of the seat. People have notice quality issues with Corbins.
If I were to do it again I'd check Baldwin.

Hey Dave, thanks for responding. In the time I posted this, I remembered a seat modifier based out of Florida that has done some amazing work for me in the past.
I just sent him a mail wondering if was willing to work his magic on my X1 seat. If hes willing and it works well,I will be posting it up on here. I cant be the only person with the same problem.
Essmjay, Thanks for the welcome.Im a paper kind of guy, Love paper manuals. But? I noticed there are Factory service manuals available in CD form for a lot less money. Was wondering if the CD format was user friendly and specific pages were printable?

+1 on the factory service manual. I replaced my stock seat with a Corbin. I haven't had any problem with it. The stock seat made my taint fall asleep, not a good thing.

I was really impressed how much better a Baldwin seat was over a Corbin. Plus Baldwin Seats is made by a Buell rider (he has a X1 among other Buells)

They are made to your specifications.

Frank, I went over to their site. They make a good looking seat for my Buell cr. Price seams fairly reasonable to. I think I will contact them. REX
