Well during my jaunt in the North Georgia mountains I started with what I believed to be a complete V&H SSR2 muffler. Evidently the PO had gutted the muffler. First I lost the elbow outlet. Next, the rest of the innards of the muffler broke loose and rattled around the muffler. Lastly, the billet end piece came loose and fell off bouncing down the road. Oddly enough, there was a pronounced flat spot in the torque curve between 3000 and 4000 RPMs. Who knew? I also found out that an M2 with a megaphone gutted V&H muffler with tractor flap safety wired end cap is loud enough to scare a ZX-14 off of the Cherohala Skyway. And make people at Booger Hollow pee their pants. |

Sounds like the way I bought my bike, with a hollowed out V&H that rattled. And sounded like a small block chevy on crack. |

mine was the same way, po gutted it and tried to fasten the "aiming elbow" with sealant...it fell off, I went to re-pack and screws were stripped so those got drilled out, try to order a replacement from V&H no go, so its been "customized" by a local guy...way nicer |
