GOT A 98 S3T WHICH ACCORDING TO THE SPEC'S IN THE BOOK HAS A 5.5 GAL' TANK WITH A .6GAL' RESERVE. HOWEVER MY BIKE HITS RESERVE AT 4GALLONS SO IF THE REST IS CORRECT I HAVE A 1.6 GAL' RESERVE. IS THIS RIGHT? I GETTING AROUND 50 MPG HITTING RESERVE AROUND 190 - 200 MILES IF FILL UP WITHIN 5 MILES OR SO IT WILL TAKE AROUND 3.8 - 4 GAL' TO TOP MY TANK OFF. IS THIS RIGHT WITH OTHER S3T RIDERS |

98 S3T tank on my bike, numbers look about right. On mine though my mileage is not so good 43-47 so 200 is about my total range (assuming the fellow I got the tank from was correct in saying it was an S3T part). I've pulled the petcock out and trimmed the inner tube (inside the plastic filter screen) about 1/4 inch. This gave me a little more range before having to switch to reserve. One of these days I'll fill up a small gas container and run my bike dry so I know how far the reserve will get me. |

Hello, It is annoying, but because the petcock is forward and higher than the lowest part of the tank, there will always be about .5 gallon left in the tank. |
