Well i finally did my first race school and track day. What fun and what a work out! I learned a lot today at the ART class at miller sports park. Since we were practicing on a low speed very technical Kart track. We could not ride the other full track until we passed the super ART class. Which is not available until you pass the ART class. I took the ART\track day course designed to for street riders that want to develop the track skills. I found out a couple of things today. 1. I found out how bad of a rider i really was! (I was amazed how many bad habits i had picked up) 2. I found out how hard it really is to be smooth. 3. This was so much fun i can't wait till the next class 4. I learned a lot about tire pressure and tire temperature and Using only race tires on the track vs. DOT tires. It was a long hot day at the track. I learned a lot about technical body posture, Braking, When and where to apex and luckily i didn't crash. Unfortunately some over zealous guys went down(low-sides)and ruined there leathers and there shiny bikes. I have a video i will post as soon as it finishes up-loading. This was a non competitive race school focused on skills development and correct training and riding habits. The guys who went down were pushing it a bit to much for the size of the track. http://www.millermotorsportspark.com/explore/ The last track day of the year, I missed the sign up date by 1 day. http://www.apextrackdays.com/ You have to have respect for the people that do this. It was more difficult than you think it is. I recommend it to all!! (Message edited by preybird1 on September 27, 2010) |

here is the video link from one of the sessions. This track has a max speed of 89-98 mph besides the straight away. It was a learning track and this session was a session where we were not allowed to use brakes. Unless absolutely necessary. http://contour.com/node/112688 |
