Well i decided to get into some racing with my X1. I just got a 1 piece race suit and i need full covering boots and some gauntlet gloves. Any suggestions on what boots? or what gloves? I was thinking of some sidi boots or joe rocket boots. There is an ART class coming up next sunday and i was hoping to be at that shcool\class on sunday. I am on vacation for 10 days on the 21st so i thought i would take a race school class and see if i can get a race license. Then i would be able to race in the amateur class at miller sports park next year. these boots http://www.ridersdiscount.com/street-gear/boots-me n/23665.php Maybe these gloves http://www.ridersdiscount.com/street-gear/gloves-m en/12820.php This is where i am going!!! http://www.millermotorsportspark.com/explore/facil ity/ |

I would use a taller race boot. These are street items. I like Sidi boots and Teknic gloves. |

Russ, are those gonna be approved for track use? They do go over the ankle but lack protection provided by traditional taller boots. They look comfy and that's a great price. That said, I'd also suggest a taller boot with shin protection if you intend to race. Busting a shin would suck, your leathers can only provide so much impact protection. I got the Sidi Vertebra Tepor a few years ago so I could enjoy their safety during our inclement weather here as well. No complaints for track use, they were great. I did add heel cups for a little more custom fit for my skinny feet. I'd suggest the Vertigo boot if you like Sidi, seems to be the new name for the old boot. Joe Rocket GPX's and A Stars SP2 are both very comfortable, functional gauntlet gloves. I like the SP2's for cooler days when you actually notice the perforated panels between the fingers on the JR gloves. The GPX's were what I used out at the track and they also did quite well. One of these days I'd like to get out for the ART class. There's an Apex track day the beginning of October, I think Kerri posted the date on the Utah Buellers section in the Storm Fronts. What suit did you get? |

Mike i sure do appreciate your help. The icon pursuit gloves i wear are a large. And they are a tiny bit baggy. if they fit i would definitely be interested. Let me know, As i have a good deal hook up at plaza cycle! I am going to go out miller sports park in a day or so to get familiar with facility. I don't want to be an unprepared idiot\newb! I have always wanted to try this and i have never had the time or the money or the bike to do this!! Less than a grand for being on the track with full gear is to good to pass up. Fernando at plaza cycle is also going to be there. He has given me a dam good discount for being a long time customer 12+ years. This will be the best vacation yet!! There is only room in the class for 15 people and only 5 have pre-registered. |

I'd love to jump in but it's kinda outside my price range, the truck will need tires before too long. I'd be happy to ride out on you familiarization tour with you if you want the company. What class are you going to ride in? Are you working tomorrow or are you on vacation right now? I can bring those gloves by the shop tomorrow afternoon if you'll be out there. |

I am on vacation right now. I am taking the track day ART class. So far only 5 people have signed up for the class so it should be a small class. Um we will have to set something up mike. Are you still working graves? |

Still on graves, might just have to meet up. The gloves I've got are some AGV's I've not worn as they just didn't work with the gear I've got. they are only padded at the knuckles, and don't have the hard armor that some of the more expensive gloves have. I think I've got your mobile #. |
