Depends on riding and oil. I use synthetic. If long distance and in warm weather, I go 5K miles. Otherwise, short trips or cold weather, 3K miles. |

I do it @ 2500-3000 as I use fossil oil, Valvoline 20/50 4 stroke. |

I use Mobil-1 15/50 every 3000 miles. |

As of last ride, 110,344.45 miles ... "BELIEVE IT OR NOT", the top end has not been off ... First 60K miles H-D dyno 20W-50, changing every 2K miles ... 60K to current mileage H-D SYNC3 20-50, changing every 3K miles ... "MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!!" |

Every Buell in the garage (tuber, XB, Blast, and Loki) gets Syn3 and an OEM filter, every 5k miles. Not counting the 99 M2 that I sold years ago with over 30k miles...there's 45k miles' worth of bikes out there right now with no major internal issues. Best part about the 5k interval? It's easy to remember, just looking at the odometer (our diesel Ram also has a 5k schedule, and with 70k its still happy as a clam). |

I also use Syn3 or synthetic at a 5,000 mile interval. No point in throwing out oil before it's useful service life is done. That's just too expensive and wasteful. |
