Been fighting what i suspected as an electrical fault on my 00 X1(only running on the rear cylinder). turns out to be a air leak on the cable side of the throttle shaft. It has a fibreish looking washer/seal. Does any one have a part # for it,thats if you can get it. Theres no mention(that i can find) in the service manual. Is there a o ring inside the housing behind the clip or is it just bushed. I filled it with grease and oil to do a bodge job to check bike, started it up and idled away on two cylinders for the first time in two weeks. It still breaks down under load until i get it above 5k. |

A jobber that does throttle body work should be able to help you ... |

Hootowl, many many hours of checking, stripping, testing. Repeating the cycle again and again...........I do like working on the bike,i'm getting pretty good at stripping everything down to test/check now... LaFayette,I will have to try and track down a FI workshop. So i take it it isn't in the X1 parts book?. |

Callan, I really doubt if you could just buy that seal. I have a throttle body with a broken throttle shaft. Let me take a look at it tonight and see if it is possible to remove and salvage that little seal thingy you're looking for... |

Cheers for the offer Kalali, i fabbed up a home made one from foam rubber,it seems to work well.No more leak. Didn't fix the problem tho,it must of been the white spirits being sucked in making it run on two. |
