I am guessing the answer is yes, but wanted to double check.... are the tuber and sportster 883/1200 cam covers and primary covers the same? primary cover part # 34951-95? thanks |

I believe 91-94 XL/Buell use 1 model of primary cover, while 95-03 XL/95-02 Buell use a later model primary cover. Cam covers I know 91-99 XL/Buell are one model, and 00-03 XL/00-02 Buell are another model. So the covers are interchangeable between Sportsters and Buells, as long as you get the right year. Try to use the wrong cam cover and you'll cut off oil circulation from 2 cams... |

You can kind of tell one year from the other by the gasket, right? It's shaped different, like you said. |

I'm not sure if you can tell by the gasket, but you can tell by the P/N. HD part #s end with the first year they were implemented, like the primary cover mentioned above. It ends in -95, so something changed in the cover design in '95 beyond the point of retrofit. If you look at the P/N of a '00 XL/Buell Primary, the P/N also ends in -'95. If the cover was a new design that would retrofit on the older models, it would end in -91B, -91C, etc., like our isolators. |

95-96 S2's had a sporster motor, so those years should be the same. Beyond that, I don't know. I know my 03 XB9 primary is shaped differently than the S2 though... |

The EVO SPORTSTER CAM COVERs look the same, "BUT" some times are different ... Best way to find out what fits what is to get the casting part number off cam cover an have a H-D parts person tell you what years it fits ... |

All of the Tuber Buells have Sportster cases that are identical to Sportsters, with the exception of larger bore mounting points (where the swingarm block mounts to the motor). SO if the part will fit a sportster motor of the same year as your tuber, it'll fit your bike as well. (Message edited by Phelan on September 14, 2010) |
