That bike is significant. It was purchased new by a good friend, a partner in the development and construction of Heartland Park Topeka and with whom I had a shared interest in a vintage Camaro, Phil's a collector. Generally had 3 or 4 Porsches about, had the FIRST 930 Turbo in the USA and he an I made a trip to Gold Wings Inc. when he was looking for his 300SL Mercedes Gill Wing. He had an impressive collection of Ducatis as well. In addition, Phil was the attorney who drafted all the documents, articles of incorporation and minutes when we filed for the name "BUELL OWNERS CLUB". That bike was in attendance and what was effectively the first gathering of Buell owners and, at that time, the most Buells ever assembled in one place. It really has an amazing history. I'm sure it's been pampered by Phil and cared for by Topeka Harley-Davidson Buell, one of the best in the country and one of the most noted and awarded dealerships in the world. For detailed information I'd suggest a call to Dr. Dave Chall, parts manager at Topeka Harley-Davidson. Dave built several of my REALLY built up Buells and is incredibly well versed. I looked for a Westwind for a while. I do remember seeing them in the showrooms... I finally figured out that I am just a S2 guy.... (Bart knows this he is just trying to put me in the poor house) It is a great piece of history.... Frank |
