Do you spray em down? Take a toothbrush and spot clean em? Lemme hear your techniques. |

Clean them? Are you crazy? They like to be dirty! On the rare occasion that I wash mine, I spray it down with the hose. Then, I wash it with car washing soap and a liberal amount of Simple Green on the metal parts to remove the road grime and the oil from the breather hose. But then again, mine sits outside all of the time in the Phoenix sun and gets ridden to work about 85% of the time, so I don't really worry too much about the way it looks. I'm sure the guys that keep their bikes looking purdy take a lot more time and pay a lot more attention to detail. |

Ahhh i see haha. I'm trying to sell my bike so i wanna make it presentable. I personally had no problem with the rough dirty look my bike accumulated over time. Simple green eh? I have alot of grime around the motor and under the bike. Simple green will get that out? |

No water pressure on the wheel bearing or you will get water in them which makes them go bad !!! Cover your air cleaner !!! |

I use s100 Just spray on and hose off where the majority of crap accumulates, then wipe off some of the water here and there. I haven't scrubbed anything yet. http://www.s100.com/ |

"hose off" means like a garden hose without any nozzle? |

Bike Bright! Spray it on and Hose it off! It's a Degreaser that is safe on metal, plastic, paint, leather and Vinyl. Have used it for years! Also, a good thing about it is it does not leave water spots! Good Stuff! |

Hmmm - sounds like Bike Bright is pretty good. I use simple green on the wheels to remove brake dust, but you do have to be careful not to let it dry on there. Depending on who you sell your bike to, he/she may be wary of a too-clean bike. If the bike is tight and leak-free, then showing it clean but not all scrubbed could be a selling point. Or someone could come along with asking price cash in hand, looking for a shiny new toy. U nevr no. |

Mine rarely sees water unless I'm riding in the rain. I use Meguiers Quick Detail, Simple Green, and brake cleaner when needed on the cast engine parts/swingarm. Be very careful not to get any brake cleaner on painted/powdercoated surfaces. |

Once you get the grime off, spray the black wrinkle finish parts of the engine with armor all. It prevents that dirty haze from returning. |
