When I first start riding my 2000 Cyclone it shifts good. After riding for about a hour it starts to become hard to get second gear. It usually hits neutral. I have to pull hard to get it in there then it shifts through all the other gears fine. Any ideas?

Try adjusting your shifter lever lower?

As our aluminum engines heat up, they expand.
Steel expands less than aluminum, therefore, the primary chain will tighten up.

That's where I would start.

If the primary is too tight the clutch will not cleanly disengage....hard shifting...

if the clutch is not releasing all the way, (dragging) it will shift hard

Thanks guys! Not sure if its completely fixed but loosening the primary seemed to help a little. I'll keep working at it.

A DRIVE BELT/CHAIN will also cause shifting problems if TOO TIGHT ...

As will the SHIFTER SHAFT ASSEMBLY ALIGNMENT being a little off ...
