Badwebbers, I have an American Sport Bike undertail on my '99 M2 that is cracking around one of the turn signals. I'm thinking of cutting down a rear fender to just the brake light and turn signal mounts and fitting it inside the undertail to act as an internal bracket to re-enforce the signal mounts. I was thinking of fabing up a brace but if and older fender, cut down, will work...that route sounds a little easier. I've given up on patching the carbon fiber (it's painted black, so no worries of ruining the look)...all my attempts with numerous methods of epoxy, fiber glass and a few others have all eventually re-cracked. So I figure if I rig up an internal bracket, that will take the tension off the undertail piece. Anybody got a better idea or have an old rear fender they don't need? I'm thinking an older M2, X1 or S3 may be narrow enough to fit inside the undertail, not sure if a '99+ M2 will. Thanks..... (Message edited by devdawg on July 23, 2010) |
