I live in SoCal and it gets hot enough to light up my engine light riding around town. Has anyone put on an oil cooler? My Suzuiki DR650 has a big one, and my old Beemer airheads also had them. Why didn't Buell put them on? |

I suppose you could adapt an oil cooler from an XR1200. There are also oil cooler options that bolt onto the oil filter. |

>>Why didn't Buell put........ Because the don't need it. Engine light coming on most likely CHT sensor. I installed XB cooler on my X1 this Spring, having trouble getting oil temp up. One side blocked off still only 151 degrees on a 96 degree day. My S3T with lowers only ran 172 on the same day. |

Check the code and see what is stored in memory. I've never seen mine get any higher than 170 even on 100F days with moderate stop and go. I generally "overheat" long before the bike does! |
