Just had the good fortune of having a low millage 1996 S1 in like new condition follow me home. The previous owner converted it to chain drive and I am trying to find out how much slack should there be in the chain. The bike is set up for the track and is more fun than a man should be allowed to have. Anyone out there have experience with chain conversion that may be able to help with info? Thanks Lou |

Set the swingarm so that the front sprocket, swingarm pivot, and rear axle are all in line. Set at ~1/4" slack at this point. Allow the bike to set at full extension (bounce on the seat a few times for good measure) and check the slack. This will be it for as long as the bike stays at that ride height. |

you might want to wipe my drool off the tank, i live up in summerville, and saw it in lowcountry. We should get together sometime, are you keeping it a track only bike or using it on the street? |

Guell So that was all the spots on the tank. Yes, I am going to leave it set up for the track. I have an XB9SX and a Road King for the street. I also teach the MSF courses at the Weapons Station and the Military Sport Bike Course. We have a 1 1/2 mile course, with 11 turns, we use for "highway speeds" training. I will use the S1 for this also. Lou |
