I have a 97 S3. When I ride, and when bike is warmed up, every once in a while I get a sputter. It is just like a once or twice miss and then it won't happen again for maybe a half hour or an hour. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, not more on a hot or cold day, nor distance from home, totally inconsistent and intermittent. Any ideas about what this might be? Thanks Revz |

Can't remember but if the 97 s3 is carb'ed but if so you have the infamous "CV Cough" re-jetting does wonders for this, There is also a possibility of an intake leak at the manifold, You can try to spray brake/carb cleaner or WD-40 around manifold and if idle changes you have a leak. Good luck! |

CARB'ed to 1998 and FI from 1999 on ... 8 oz. of STP gas treatment every 5K makes your engine to run smoother ... If you have never changed the intake seals, IT IS NOW TIME TOO ... A #45 low speed jet, idle mixture screw 2 turns out from seat, and raise the needle 0.025 thousands should cure the KEIHIN CV "COUGH" ... |
