Hey all, I'll be starting my buell project this week. This is how it currently is. I bought it with the paint and seat and air cover. I'm looking to go dark and mean. Just bought a second bike to ride around this season while this one gets worked on. I'd like to get some carbon fiber overlay or cover for tank and chop rear frame. Looking to lower it a bit and get clip-ons,pazzo levers, custom grips, flat black paint, custom seat, fat fork covers etc... I'll try to update as best I can. If anyone can help me with where I can get some of the carbon fiber overlay done or how the clip-ons are i'd much appreciate it! Thanks all for taking a look and the help. Side note: the buell seat, the cracked lower fairing, cracked rear fairing (at the bolts)and some others will be for sale. I also have some aluminum pegs that I got on ebay for $70 that i will post also.

It looks like a fun project. I've got an orange frame Cyclone that would love to be wearing that seat...... |

A lot of interest in the seat. I will get back to everyone and let you know what the story is. Yes I am getting rid of it and it looks as though I'll be trading it for a set of custom handlebars etc.. I will post more stuff on the classifieds so I don't hog up space on this forum. So this is a quick mock-up of what I'll be working towards. I've already started going to town on this by taking off un needed covers and what not and taking the pipes off to wrap it. Pics of all the work to come soon. Just at work and got bored. This picture shows a custom single seat, shaved instrument cluster, "flat black" scribbled paint job, and a soft tail harley rear fender widened to fit with an integrated turn signal taillight. Just trying to be totally out of the box and different. I'll also be posting videos from youtube that I will show the progress. Thanks for looking and any help!

like the front and the mono seat idea, but that HD fender is not my cup off tea. But maybe you'll suprise me, don't think i've seen it done before. good luck with your project !! |

Thanks. This was just a mock up to see what it would look like. Did some other fenders in the back to see what they'd look like but its really tough to get a good feel for what it looks like without actually doing it. Originally I wanted to put a CBR or R1 tail section on it but i'm not going to spend $200 to buy a tail section for it not to fit. Worked 32 hrs this weekend so tomorrow and Tues I'll get those pics and some more stuff done. |

OK so far I've gotten a lot done...mostly stripping the bike getting things ready for customizing. Put a cf sprocket cover, metal belt guards, aluminum pegs, etc.. Ive decided against the softail fender...too risky to spend all the money to mod it and maybe not even like it. Sticking with the solo seat. I might just do a metal seat pan look. Ive got more parts coming in by the day. Next to come off are the instrument assembly, exhaust, handlebars and headlight. Might even go as far as cutting the frame to make the solo seat cleaner. We'll see how it all goes more pics to come.

Buell orange piped Pegasus seat sold. Couple of updated pics. Getting parts coming in all the time. Just got some Vortex clip-ons and will be considering a digital speedo and tach to place where the risers were. The last pic was taken while i was trying out the old bars flipped upside down to simulate a lower riding position. I didnt post the ape hanger pic just yet tho haha.

Yea something similar. Saw this a few days ago so there goes my originality points haha. This is a great bike. I am gona look to obv go a dif route than tis so I don't have a carbon copy. I guess if you had to call it something it would be a refined streetfighter. Goin clipon bars and dual headlights and some cool accents for an aggressive look. Bought some brass knuckles..actually made of steel to weld to the frame and some other pieces to dress up some of the spots. Goin flat black w a seat pan similar but I don't think ill chop the frame to this extent. Wana keep the stock oil container. I'm also goin for a digital tach and speedo to cover the risers holes and a keyless ignition. |

I just painted the sub on that bike and am in the process of having a seat made. I'll post some pics for you so you can see it finished (well, finished for now) if you'd like. Oh, and if you were looking: http://cgi.ebay.com/12V-Logisys-RM01-DC-relay-switch-w-2-Remote-Control-/190400794708?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c54c59054 They work well. Yea def I'd love to see those pics. I like the ebay link...I just dont think I'll be smart enough to remember neutral and choke everytime. I'm looking at just the keyless ignition http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&item=160249668740&crlp=1_263602_263622&ff4= 263602_263622&viewitem=&guid=b054cc721280a0b583272 187ffe9396c&rvr_id=&ua=WXI7&itemid=160249668740 |

M2fighter: If you hook that wireless 12V system up to your ignition relay the only thing it will do is energize your bike. You'll still have to press the starter button to actually start the bike. All the wireless 12V system does is pretend it's your key turning from off to run...it has no way to actually start the bike. Hope that helps save you 355 bucks |

Ebutch the black one is not mine. Its similar to what I am looking to build. Drawkward, have you used the remotes you posted? They look a little cheap was all. |

Yep I've used them. I've also used the RFID set up that you can find on ebay for 15 bucks. Both worked perfectly. They are coming mainly from china in huge bulk order so they're cheap. The Chinese didn't have to do any research on the product because they just steal the design from someone else, like Guard Dog, and reproduce it. |

Dude, I totally thought from the night pic your bike was metal flake paint. How'd you get the texture like that? Very nice. How's the ride with no front fender? When you welded the frame sliders. did you just paint the frame where you had to do the work or did you disassemble and paint it separate? I have some brass knuckles (made of steel) I am planning to weld on as frame accents and was wondering. Also the front forks, powder coated??? Thanks for all the help. When I find time to get home I need to take the top of the triple tree off to get the frigin headlight off. Just bought some xb9 dual lights to throw on and will have the clip-ons put on shortly after. its slowly but surely coming together |

The tank was sprayed up close with bed liner. If you want to get it done, make sure to ask them not to spray it far out as that will cause the texture to be like sand paper, and it'll wear right through your jeans. The ben liner is basically bomb proof and it won't bubble up on that plastic tank like a lot of other paints can. In the rain, no front fender (and no rear fender) are a pain in the ass. I try to stay dry on this bike because of that. I love the look with no fenders so I probably won't ever switch back. An old biker once told me that if you tie a bandanna around the front forks close to the tire it will help with the water spray from the front tire...and it does sorta work. Just fyi. After I welded the frame sliders on I just resprayed the frame with black spray paint. Same with the subframe and all the other places I had to grind on. It doesn't look too bad but isn't exactly matched. I plan on a complete disassemble to fully powdercoat the frame and swingarm. Don't know when that'll happen, but sometime in the next 5 years, hahaha. The front forks were also done with spray paint. Just sanded them down to rough them and sprayed. I think I did two coats. They're not perfect but it looks pretty good. Just a word of caution...if you plan on making your own subframe, your ass will most likely sit lower than it normally did...and farther back. Keep that in mind when choosing clipons. The ride will likely be very uncomfortable because of the lean angle. But frankly, if it still handles good and looks good then who gives a shit. Good luck with it |

I love the look of the bedliner and the idea. Im sure I don't want to have a carbon copy of your bike though. I gota come up with something original. Sweet idea for other projects in the future though. Everything looks awesome for being sprayed. That was my whole thing, I don;t have the money/talent/or time to take it all apart and powdercoat everything. As far as the seating, I played around with locations and what not of the bars and I swear I am gona regret it but the clipons will look so badass. Just got a set of XB headlights. Traded a nice seat for it and some cash but I got screwed cuz one of the two lights are melted asnd the reflector on the inside is stained beyond repair. Was thinking about the gasmask mod but it seems overdone. I dunno yet. We'll see how far this weapon theme will take me. Thanks for all your help. Hopefully this week I can get a few things done and get some more pics up. Workin a few ot shifts so maybe will have enough for the digi tach/speedo. |

Looking to purchase a digital speedo/tach combo but not sure which type will work or what to do exactly. Any ideas? Would something like this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DAKOTA-DIGITAL-CLASSIC-SPEEDOMETER-TACH-HARLEY-MCV-7400-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem20b1685767QQitemZ140415358823QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories This bike has become quite the project. Didn't think it would take nearly this long. Whats next? Ok so I need to remove the shield around the shock (ya know to make it look cool??). So can I do that w the shock on there? Probably not! So how do I keep the bike upright while I'm taking the shock and forks off? I cant seem to figure it out where the shock and exhaust is still down there. Do we have a lift system that does this or what? Also I'm taking off the exhaust to make a custom setup and heat wrap them. Even thats kinda a PITA! So I've been told after the wrapping we spray it with hi-temp paint. Where the heating and cooling of the exhaust after it is on the bike will expand and contract the wrap, should I paint it or is it just going to come off? I need to get some motorcycle elves to help me on this bike with their tiny hands. Side note: Was gona do gas mask headlight mod but got wrong masks...now Im short 1 bike mod but plus side...... ready for D-Day haha

Most easy speedo is one with a magnet and a pick up. for the rpm's a wire to wrap around the cable for the spark plug. I've got a vapor digital speedo on mine M2 that works fine, but you've got more brands. heat wrapped my headers just with the wrap and that works fine so far. |

Cool thanks. Also just throwing this out there...found an amazing pair of levers that they only make for the 1996-2010 Softail & Dyna, 96-07 FLH Touring models and hayabusa. Any shot you guys think i'll have modding them to fit an M2?

How do the clip ons work with the tank. Any clearance issues? |

you might want to go with a s1 tank, since those bars look way forward. The skinny tank would allow you to bring them in more, just a thought. |

Id like to keep the M2 tank and would like to stick with it. I'm not really concerned too much w comfort as I ride short distances. There is clearance issues no matter how I positioned them so I made custom fork bumpers. Ends up about a half inch more for the correct clearance. I'll post pics when its all on |

No one has commented on this yet, but why in the hell do you want to remove the outer part of the shock? I'm pretty sure that may not be a good idea. They made it that way for a reason I assume. Just get a Penske or a Works shock for the exposed spring look if that's what you want. I just sold my last works too, so you're out of luck there lol. |
