Bought this nice 2001 M2 and it has a force winder intake, and borla exhaust and Pazzo Levers, and some nice hand grips machined black billed and rubber in the middle. they are nice, but I am wondering if I have any internals mods or any ecm upgrades is there an easy way. I am used to cars and you can tell if its got cams and head work done on a car, but what about a bike..I thought about looking up part numbers to see if everything was stock?????? |

why not assume it's stock? - based on text, your 'new' bike's only been added to, strictly with bolt-ons an $100 upgraded ECU may say 'Race', or at least have a part # you can verify the $300 Dynojet Power Commander was a common enhancement - look under seat &/or near ECU oh - right now, order/copy service & parts manuals for your yr & model |

Thats what I am figuring on is basing on it being stock. there is no power commander on it although I would be interested in putting one on it.it only has 2100 miles on it and I was thinking maybe he just used it as a track toy? but itruns amazing, and I cannot wait to add to it. I was hoping to find an online service manual seeing as how it seems there is one for all these other bikes. guess ill keep looking. |

you're in exactly the correct place on this [or any other Buell] board manuals & most other salient topics are available in KV section, archives & thru search function for the time being, resist making changes until after making sure the bike's running 100% |

Since it has a Forcewinder and a new exhaust they probably at least re-jetted the carb. comes stock with a #42 low jet. Probably has a #45, or #48 by now. If so, the idle speed plug cover has probably been removed. |

Best way to see if you have any internal work it to put it on a dyno and like mentioned above you don't have an ECM but you can purchase a selectable curve ignition. |

If it already has forcewinder and borla exahuast and it is running good don't bother with the jets it already been tuned for your add-ons. |

alright yeah I thought something was up the other day when I filled up and it started running like a dead dog, and then I figured it was just some bad fuel added some amsoil ethanol treatment and it came back to life. |

it's all semantics & acronyms - no apologies req'd "natch" is 40s [50s?] slang for "naturally; of course; it goes almost without saying...." "PC3" is Dynojet Power Commander III, an add-on fuel injection black box if you have an M2, just concern yerself with "CV" & "Mikuni" (Message edited by firstbuell on June 21, 2010) |

It uses Premium gas. You can check the Low Speed Jet, and the Main Jet to see if the Constant Velocity (CV) carb has been 'tuned'. If you are careful and patient, it can be done by just removing the float bowl from the carb. (Best to do this with the header cold, for reasons that will become obvious.) The Ignition Module is under the right side of the seat cowling plastic, you might be able to see with a flashlight whether the face of it says Race Use Only, or maybe the Part Number. It's a small black plastic box slightly larger than a pack of smokes. You can tell if it's a Race Ignition module by the Part Number, or if it says Race Use Only. The cams and heads, I don't know an easy way to tell visually. I would guess the number of M2 owners who do these things are like 3%. M2 is the Torque machine, not the Horsepower machine, like the S3 or X1. One thing to mention, you might be needing intake seals soon, better check into that in the "Knowledge Vault" section soon. |

If you have parts specific questions regarding your bike you can post up pictures too, many of us can tell you a fair bit about your bike with a couple decent photos. Regarding the ignition, i believe the earlier Lightning module can also be used on the M2, it would have a black sticker with a yellow lightning bolt, maybe trimmed in blue if memory serves correctly. Take care of that Borla, those are great sounding, beautiful pipes and can be very difficult to find. Welcome to the M2 section! |

I wanna make a nice bike to ride in Italy. I will be stationed there for three years so I want something solid, and tight and quick through the twisties.. |

'Amen' to that - thanks for serving ------------------------------------------- Italian Buellers are pretty active online - once in country, perhaps you'll discover active Buellers there, too by when will you be stationed in Italy? |
