I'm sure this is remedial to some of the Smokey Yanicks out there, but that ain't me . . . . I’m mounting XB heads to the MaDeuce, preparing it for a long overdue resurrection and trip to Utah . . . .. Thunderbolt heads have tapped holes to attach the carb mounting bracket -- clearly, the XB heads don't need the holes, but the bosses are there in the casting – do I simply drill and tap the holes (to a shallow depth to keep them from turning into defacto breathers)? What depth would be suggested? Thanks, all! Expect more questions soon! ;-} |

BOMBER!!! Yes, but the nice thing is they do not have to be the large 1/2" size the stockers were. I did it as a back up in case I ever wanted to go back to the stock config, but a 1/4-20 to 1/2-13 will do it. I suggest using a drill press or mill to keep the holes straight and plum... |

Last HC I attendedd, some lowriders caught fire (nothing like a truck with 147 batteries in the bed blazing merrily away) . . . . . oddly enough, everyone was running away with one excpetion . . . .FMJ was strolling casually TOWARD the conflagration . . . I'm sure there is meaning here, somewhere ;-} |

Yeah, that fire was a good diversion for the two middle-aged guys in matching jackets sneaking into the parking lot on a borrowed Harley... Good times! rt |

Um...just because I didn't see it mentioned...you are using matching XB pistons, yes? Only because that's the sort of detail that would bite me in the ass... |

Ratbuell -- sorta kinda, yes. I got a 1250 kit from Pammy and the good (check that, make it GREAT) folks at Cycle Rama with jugs abd slugs designed for this application! I have no experience with Paper Brad, but will admit he scares me a little. OK, number question -- what's the value to which the front motor mount needs to be torqued to the front head? thanks! |

No Experience with Paper Brad= No Problem. But you're fixing to have some (more) experience with the man behind Paper Brad... rt |

Bomber, if you have a mind to, post up a howdy on the Utah Buellers page in the Storm Fronts. It would be nice to meet up. We're a small group here but are getting to know each other as the dealership has mostly left the picture. We have some great canyons for riding and some amazing ones down south for hiking and canyoneering. |

What front mount are you using? I'm going to assume you know the spacing is different but was just wondering. |
