TYPE- "E" FORK OIL; (part# HD-99884-80) M2 Standard Capacity (DRY) 15.96 ounces or 472cc You need a PRO-LEVEL OIL GAUGE ( Part No.B-59000A)to measure the distance. Standard Oil Level 4.25 in or 108 mm Maximum Oil Level 3.15 in or 80 mm Minimum Oil Level 4.92 in or 125 mm I am in search for the above oil gauge part #( B-59000A) and the front holding fork tool( B-41177) Does anyone know where to find them other then the dealer? Thanks.. Hope this helps |

Motion Pro sells the Fork oil level measuring tool, about $30. Lot of folks say a Turkey Baster works just as good. Measure it, mark the Baster tube (or put a piece of tape.) Align the Baster mark with the top of the fork tube, and suck out the oil above the oil level that you just measured. The Min and Max sure looks backwards to me as well. You are measuring from the top down therefore the less fluid you have the greater the depth and the more oil you have the shallower the depth. seams backwards because you are measuring the absence of fluid not how much is in there. Just put in 16oz and you are good to go. |

OH OK ! I understand now. So...as long as you get all the old oil out. Then you don't really need to measure the distance ? Thank You Both. |

But what is the actual weight of the oil? I figure there's got to be plenty of other choices besides HD fork oil. |
