Frank, I'm doing several of the Castro updates right now:

NGK DPR9EA-9 cool (equivalent to Buell 10R12)

My bike still ran on the ancient 6R12 OEM plugs, which where white at the electrodes, ash-white!

Yes, Don is a great guy and a great S2 Enthusiast. I was really impressed when he came all the way to High Country HD just to meet me. I wish we got to ride together before he moved out of the state but we will someday.

I read Don's site a lot and actually printed most of the stuff. I like that plug and I checked three different auto part chain stores today. No one had it (I cannot buy it from the HD dealer in town for obvious reasons). I hate going into Colorado Springs for this stuff since I have yet to meet anyone that can actually help you. Different rant.

I found a screw for the Supertrapp but think I will just put the stock muffler back on. I am sick of screwing with it.

Well I put the stocker back on. I really do not mind it. I like to make some noise but it works well. I am getting the vapor lock again. This time it only seems to do it when I am getting on it about 75 to 80mph and over 4K rpm. I am thinking it may be a carb problem. Maybe the fast jet is mucked up.

I got on the highway and got to 90mph rather quickly and slowed down to 80 when it died. I took off again after waiting a few minutes and again it happened. The next time I only got up to 65 and took it easy and was able to make it home ok. Seems like when it is getting ready to happen it stumbles a bit a 3100rpm, it is very slight like a flat spot but not as extreme.

I will keep working it and will rebuild the carb and check all the jets. I cannot for the life of me remember what jets I have in it. I am also going to put a slightly longer fuel line it so I can route it better.

Frank,
you have mail.
Mine came with 19 discs fitted (I have a Mikuni and single fire ignition), I reduced this to 12 but still didn't like the sound. I'm now running a V&H but the stock exhaust does a very good job considering how quiet it is.
My stock muffler has started making an irritating ticking sound at idle. I'm not sure if something has broken inside or not. I would like to fit my stainless S3 muffler but am not sure if a '97 S3/S1 header will clear the oe filter. If I remember correctly the first S1 headers had a slightly different bend on the rear cylinder pipe that would clear the S2 filter whereas the later ones would require a different filter.

I've become rather attached to my green carbon!!!!
