I stopped by the Harley dealer while in Myrtle Beach today and picked up some oil, filters and two extra plugs while in the area for my 02 M2.The parts guy asked which grade plug I wanted and I said the better.I got the 10R12AG or the HD Gold plugs, what's the difference other than price and the gold terminal and washer? |

So how much was the difference? The 10R12 is the normal plug for the Tubers. Never knew of a GOLD type. |

Here is a description I found: A special thread and shell coating ensures quick and easy removal from aluminum heads and resists corrosion. A gold palladium insert extends life and improves resistance to corrosion. The tapered tip provides better spark exposure to air/fuel mixture and allows the mixture to flow more easily through gap area for maximum combustibility. Fouling resistance is improved with smaller diameter center electrode wire and insulator tip. Plus, a copper-cored ground electrode runs cooler for extended life. Anti-seize coating on threads. 10R12AG Fits '02-later VRSC™ models. Fits all Buell® (except '08-later XB and 1125R models). (Message edited by scdobber on March 30, 2010) |
