Hey ppl I just ran across this picture on craigslist. The owner seems to be unresponsive to my emails. Anyone know how he did this or where he got the kit from? Tail looks like a kit. That tail is SEXY.I want it!

it is an X1or at least that is the best i can tell. do you have another angle of the bike? definatly an x1 tank. Although the is some work done to the tail section it still looks like it is an x1 |

Did he flip it back doing a wheelie? The tail is kicked up way in the back, Euro-style. (Not to my taste at all by the way, but I digress...) It looks like it has a carbon undertail, like the kind carried by Trojan in UK. I don't know if American Sport Bike carries them too, I never look at the X1 section! p.s. can this be moved OUT of the M2 sub-forum? (Message edited by jayvee on March 03, 2010) |

My question is " Can I make my M2 tail look like that? If thats an X1...I'd like to know how I can retrofit that to my bike.I can make brackets...I'm wondering how that tail attaches so I can make it go on the M2. |

M2 tail is welded as part of the frame. X1 tail bolts on. Just buy an X1 frame if you want to add an X1 tail. It'll be easier that way... |

It mounts to the frame tabs with 4 socket head cap screws, 2 each side as shown in the pic Wilson posted. You would also need the X1 oil tank and fab up an undertail. The X1 ecm is located under the seat, might have to reroute/alter the wiring harness. |

My first though was that they just made a spacer to move the lower bolt points back on both sides, wouldn't take much and you'd just swing the thing skywards. Additional mods are already stated, carbon under tail, American Sport Bike does sell them as well; rear tail has also been painted/powder coated black (pretty obvious and probably doesn't need mentioning) but, that really makes it look more slim. Integrated tail light/blinkers? |

Oil cooler Don. That's just what I was thinking about Steve, that bike is SHINY! The horn sure looks good that way. I like the reflective "Buell" lettering on your right-side chin fairing. |

Sorry, Wilson, you're one of the guys here I've gotten to know without really knowing and that tends to lead to misunderstandings. Steve, I didn't mean to imply Brinnutz was being rude. I am used to teasing and making fun with people I work with and it's easy to slip into that mode of thinking, it's generally good natured and we do it to pass the time. Brin is in the military and I am in L.E. and we all tend to do that stuff. Apologies for stirring the pot. |
