Somewhere in my quest for All-Things-Cool I managed to acquire a genuine Buell S2 'Touring Backpack' - part number 99764-96BL. Realizing, at my age, that I: 1 - don't wear backpacks. ever. 2 - don't want to wear a backpack, ever. 3 - can't think of anything I'd be inclined to carry in one. 4 - have been 'between' S2 bikes for well over a decade. 5 - have no sentimental attachment to said backpack: So I've decided to part with it. Here's my question(s): What is this thing worth, what did I actually lay out in '96 era dollars for it (no receipt, as usual) and what kind of knucklehead (not to disparage any pre-48 ELs or FL's) would want such an item? Not counting Canfield, of course, he likely has a case of them, still sealed from the factory. It's still has the tag on it. Planning on putting it in the classifieds or maybe ebay. Thanks - I know one of you out there will know the answers. Al- out here on the leftcoast, where we're carefully NOT standing on the beach, in the POUNDING rain, waiting for the tsunami to level Long Beach.

You're gonna WEAR a priceless Collectable?!?! Dude that's just so, well, Spiderman-like of you. I know that "got's no money" thing. I've been building up on that pretty regular, lately. Al Well, now we know of at least 2 of them! (not counting Court's box, of course) (Message edited by leftcoastal on February 27, 2010) |

You're gonna WEAR a priceless Collectable?!?! What is the point of having it if it's gonna sit in the closet? It's like those H-D guys that spend 30k on a bike and never ride it... If it makes ya feel any better I woulda saved the tag in my collectibles box |

I'm with Spidey. I'd use it with my S2, assuming I get it assembled soon. Even with bags on the S3 I used my sling bag enough to bust the buckle. I'm a little worried about having bikes that aren't baggers! I went for a long time thinking I wouldn't wear a backpack - especially with Indiana humidity. The free slingbag got me realizing that it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I'm thinking you'll do pretty well selling it... |

It can hold a lot more beers than me! I drink so little anymore that I get sleepy on about 6 oz. Kinda grim. The pack looks like it would easy hold 3 or 4 sixers. Please get to your destination prior to knocking a few back. Al |
