I am posting this for my best friend who is looking to get a new bike... Its a '96 Parkway Blue S2T. It has 55k with most of the service accounted for (paperwork & all). It will also come with a Buell service manual. My friend bought it from his uncle who was the original buyer and has 5 other bikes. It has all the current updates on the bike from Buell. The topend has been rebuilt/ upgraded due to the key on the pinion shaft shearing a couple years ago right after he bought it. The current build consists of MANY good parts! 1250 kit 10.5:1 NRHS Stg 3 heads HSR42 w/ K&N SE .575 cams SE Intake Manifold S1W header Supertrapp w/ race cap SE Adjustable Ignition module SE High Performance Coil & Wires The bike has a tinted windscreen on it and will come with BOTH the narrow and wide bags. I am looking to get rid of the bike fairly soon. I forgot to add, the bike is located in SE Michigan. |

I dunno, but I'd love to make another trip to Michigan to pick up another S2 (I flew to Detroit to pick up the one I have now)! If only I had the funds... |

Logic does not seem to be dictating much of what is going on in the market for used bikes right now. Or at least, in Buell world. Logically, even though the bike has seen a lot of miles, it has been obviously well cared-for and has some good aftermarket parts. But the problem is, we have all seen how hard it is to recoup the dollars poured into a bike as a personal passion. And there's a perfectly nice, yellow S2 that has been sitting in Baltimore waiting for a home for god-knows how long, with the price dropping as time goes by - he's down to 3000 OBO right now. The only thing working in your favor is that Buellers are a passionate lot, and you may find someone who MUST have a parkway blue S2T, and wants EXACTLY the type of mods that are on the bike. How much did that S2 recently go for in GA (posted in FS section)? |

Let's start with this: how much would your friend realistically want to get for the bike? Have him send you pix, and post it up in the FS section. There's typically a lot of good feedback on there about the fairness of a price, even if it doesn't sell. Besides, we all like to drool over good bike pix! |

I bought a 1996 S2T (Quicksilver Metallic with 45,000 miles), same setup save the exhaust, last summer for $2,650. All documentation to include service manual, timing cover and the whole Signature Series package, it did not have the large lids but did have the small bags. Frank |

Man I thought my 4k S2 was a deal It was! I bought my first S2T a few years ago with 9K miles for 4,500 and it was a steal and still my favorite. 1996 S2T (number 95) 4,500 1995 S2 (number 35) 3,700 1996 S2T (number 240) 2.650 1995 S2 (number 304) Traded some parts for the frame and front end only. I think the S2s and S2Ts with all the documentation will demand the higher prices however, to me it does not matter. They are great bikes and I am lucky to have a few. I may own other bikes that are better in every way (save class) but the S2 is the last bike I will own. Mossdahaus, your friend, most likely, will not make any money on the bike but I think the BadWeb is the place he will get the most interest. Otherwise the chopper builders will low ball him for the engine and front end. What kind of bike is he looking to get? If it is another Buell maybe we could talk.

I'm with Frank - my S2 ('95, #1365) will never leave. Bought it with about 15k on it, lowers, large bags, S2T drop pegs, Supertrapp, sig series plate/card/letter...$3k. Now it has both sets of bags, a Gustafsson +4 windshield to go with the stock screen, a Thunderstorm top end and cams, a Works shock, EBC front rotor, nearly 30k miles, and some guy scribbled all over the RH lower fairing with a silver paint pen in Wisconsin last summer. Guess you just can't take anything nice to the factory, LOL. I really do wish someone would grab that yellow Baltimore bike so I don't have to save it personally....lol Maybe Frank? He seems to be not only keeping the owner registry, but trying to be the only person on it, with ALL the bikes!!! |

Oh yeah forgot to tell you, it also has a corbin seat as well as the Buell soft storage bags that fit next to the instrument panel. The header was powder coated inside & out. So do you want some pics? Excuse the bike for being a bit dirty as hasn't been washed YET. The bike is in storage with other bikes so we took off the bags and the front fairings for protection of the parts. I tried to get the best pics I could within the space we had. Supertrapp w/ race cap & header Corbin Tire wear front & rear Carb & adjustable pushrods NRHS XB Stage3 heads & mount Dash (showing working lights and mileage) And last but not least, the body itself

Frankly, if I were local I would probably offer around $1,600 for that bike as it is anything but clean. I'm not talking about washing it, as that grime goes deeper, much deeper. Just to give you one example, for $2,200 I can buy a clean, 101hp S3 locally: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/mcy/161491059 7.html I admit we Californians are spoiled and picky, but I personally would only be looking for bikes that have never been ridden in the rain, at a bargain. The market it what it is, meaning now is the time to buy, not to sell. |

since there are quite some modifications done, what happened to the original parts? Are they still there and included in the deal? And what about the Signature goodies? I think $1600 is a little low for this bike even though I scored one for that price before....in Michigan. I would probably offer 2K right now (still snow in OH) :-) Hey Bernard, did you get my message? |

Well, regardless of the market, it's worth $3K to me. If I can find a way to come up with it, I'll let you know. |

He is looking to get into a naked...a newer Z1000 or Bandit 1250 or even possibly a POWER cruiser (M109R or VMAX). We're both still young and he wants to have something more FUN to ride than a rare sport touring bike. He knows this deserves to go to a good home especially with Buell going under recently so yeah... |
