I have one on the S1, it looks great, and fits great. I did have to remove the hugger though because of clearance. |

Great investment, helps cool the oil too. |

$500 to store oil??? Before you shell out that kind of cash figure out exactly what you want for it. Cooler oil temps - exactly what is your bulk oil temperature? Longer oil change intervals - do you put enough miles on the bike to warrant it? More bling? Well, that might be one reason... I would paraphrase the Rob Muzzy commandment of: Know WHAT you want and WHY you want it before you go about spending money on it. |

buy an oil cooler, that's cheaper than a alu oil tank if you wont lower oil temps. |

I have the tank on my S1 and love it. Everyone notices it and asks if I made it. I wish I did. I paid about $400 years ago used. I got it for the bling... |

Really, "because its so cool!" is about the only rationale I can think of. And I almost bought one too, back when they were only $400... |

Theoretical question: what would be the pros/cons of a cast aluminum tank? Pro: cheaper to make? Con: takes effort to polish up? |

Having seen pictures of that $500 oil tank I had given thought, a person could figure out and weld up their own if they took time to make the measurements and try it with a cardboard model. If someone does let me know and might buy 1 from you! Don't even need to be shiny. mark61 |

I've asked around and for the time invested to pay someone to make one, it's entirely to costly... |
