Hi people - I just bought a used tank bra, have to replace the elastic - no big deal. Ok, I unfold the thing and there are these 4-plastic U-channel things with velcro that attach themselves to the bottom fuzzy padding. They're just randomly there and I'm wondering where they're supposed to go? thanks! |

might be an X1 bra. Can you post a pic? |

Plastic channel things sound like something for a tank cover - X1 or S2. Pics? |

oh well... if i got the wrong one i'll sell it... i'm going to see if it fit s over my tank first. UPDATE: it fits fine over my tank. there's an eyelet for the tank mounting bolt, the busted elastic strap I'm guessing is supposed to go around the stub at the front of the tank. I'm also guessing that I won't need those plastic channels for anything. The guy was selling another bra for a X1, S2 ... maybe the parts got in my box by accident? I have the same one, it came with instructions specifically for installing it on a manta tank, i dont have the instructions anymore. I think the clips slid onto the tail section down lower and they hold the bra down |

hmm... I'll give it a better look on the bike. I was just trying to fit it to a spare tank I have in my basement. This one I bought on a whim and didn't look to deeply into the details until now... It came off of an S3. The S3 at first glance has the large manta tank, but it also has this plastic that extends from the back and up to right beneath the bottom edges of the tank so it has some extra material near the seat that could just tuck under the frame and maybe those clips would be to hold that small bit of extra material. I'll check it out and see if it looks ok. thanks! |

IIRC - you put velcro on the clips and slip them on to edge of the tail section where the tank bra reaches. The velcro grabs the fabric on the underside of the tank bra near the back and holds the back flaps from flapping around. Kilroy |

thanks Kilroy... that makes perfect sense. I'll have to check it out on the bike. |
