hey, new to the group. just looking for some ideas to change the look of my old man style, (no ofence to those who like) s3t. like the "thug", look. before this i had a xb9 done up. too many speed "issues" so i ditched it for a victory that i did up as an old/new skool bobber. fun ride but not a BUELL. bought this tube frame fan of old . if you at got anything, cool. |

First thing that you should do is sell me the S3 fairing and hardware. I'm located in NS. Everyone knows that tough guys ride naked. I'm not tough! |

you want a thug bike. Don't tear up an s3t in the process. Buy an x-1 or m-2 or older s-1. I would love to find a clean, REASONABLE s-3t. S-3 is what it is.. Don't try to make it what it isn't |

I second that.. S3s are starting to disappear and you'll spend alot of money trying to make it what it isn't! you could buy another nice S1 or M2 for almost what you'd spend converting. But you know what they say about opinions! |

You will find somebody who will help you with the trade, try posting in classifieds, I gaurantee that there is an S1 that belongs to somebody who wants an S3T. I have an S3T and love it because I'm a sport tour guy, and need to cover 300 miles before I get to the mountains, and pack everything I will need along. I agree with the boys, let the BW Bikers help you get want you want and not destroy one of Erik's great works in the process. OK tough guy? |

S3Ts are a pretty rare bird, less than 1,800 built... in fact, they are the rarest of the "new style" tubers (S1, S3, M2, X1) - I'd rather see you customize something that's less rare and closer to what you want to end up with rather than hack up a rarer bike that's further from what you want. |

holy crap! Red Deer? How long is your riding season? I've been there working in the oil patch. It's COLD. Beautiful skies at night though. |

try to get out as soon as the roads are dry. gravel on the corners make it slower than usual. still when a chinook shows up the bike gets uncovered and tuned. try to get out in march and ride until to snowy. |

I have owned 2001 M2 and currently own 2000 S3T. S3T is gear higher for highway and engine is not as "hot" as M2 or X1. S3T is for the road and is not set up mechanically to be a street fighter without mechanical modification. I currently have forcewinder, B&B and ECM. M2 had forcewinder, B&B and Michuni. No comparison. M2 would smoke S3T. However the S3T on the open road and through the twisties is heaven. |

IIRC, S3 and X1 have the same motors. The M2 actually made less power than either of them. M2 had milder cams, and the heavier crank. X1 and S3 had hotter cams and a lighter crank than the M2. |

off the line I think he's right. I ride my X1 with a buddy on his M2 and while I have to pick the proper rpm for a power wheelie, his M2 is eager to loft the front tire at any rpm with just a twist of the wrist. That's even with a 1250 kit on my X1 (stock cams and heads though) At the same time, get those two bikes together at highway speed and the X1 will be ready to scoot a lot faster than the M2. M2 = torque X1 = horsepower |
