Went for a ride on my 01 M2L around town last week. After cruisin around from 30-35 mph with stop and go traffic, my bike instantly stalled at idle. It would start back up, but was a little annoying so I headed back home. I did a quick inspection of my battery and other connection which was all good. I checked the fuel vent and that seemed fine. I started it up the next day and it got it to running temp with no issue. Today I did 150 miles in the countryside some in the city with no problem.. Anyone else ever have this? |

Check the large braided ground strap under the oil tank. Also try the wire wiggle trick on anything you can get your hands on with the bike running. If your bike is FI try a TPS reset. |

It is carbed. I will take a look at the ground and see if is dirty or loose. Eitherway she ran like a champ and made for a great Sunday... |

Ok, this happened again on the way home Friday. The ride in was flawless, except it was about 27 degrees. I hate freezing but I was looking forward to the ride home. About 20 minutes into my ride home I hit a stop light and the bike seems to idle slower then stall. I started it up again and kept riding. The rest of the ride was fine until I hit the last remaining stop lights. I turned up the idle to keep it running but when I got to my driveway the idle speed didn't help. The next day I checked the connections they seem fine. I looked at the plugs and they were not fouled. I did notice the positive wire to the coil was loose and mildly corroded. I added some dialectic grease and started it up. It ran fine as it warmed up, but I didn’t test ride it yet. I haven't dug into the carburetor, but I have to believe it is an electric issue that happens when it is warmed up and at idle. Any more advice from the Buell gurus would be great. Thanks Judo |

I would check for corrosion on kickstand safety switch. |

I had a problem where it just died and then started right up again. It only died one time at a stop light. All other times it would not start but then with no action on my part other than repeatedly hitting the start button, it would start and run great. Turned out the be the ignition and starter relays. I Replaced both relays, Duralast Part#19389, Autozone, and have not had either problem since. Your problem may be different but you could try swapping them to see if your problem moves from a running bike dying to a bike not starting. Or just replace them both and hang on to the old ones as spares. |

Well...After testing the kickstand switch, clutch switch, and bank angle sensor there seems to be nothing wrong. I played with the gas cap vent and that seems fine to. I did notice some oil that ran from the drain hose onto the kickstand switch and I cleaned it up. I haven't had any issues after testing and playing around.. Just strange.. |

I had problems once with it dying but it would happen sometimes and it would start up after a bit or kind of the start/stop BS while running along. It ended up being one of the leads on the coil being loose. |

Just for grins, if your gas tank is low. Take the tank off and dump all the gas in a bucket. Hold the rubber cup in the tank opening and shake the rest out and see if you have a track of water floating around. And a few oz. of fuel additive would be good insurance if there is any in the carb. |

For the comments on wiggling the wiring !!! THIS WIRING SHOULD BE TIE WRAPPED TO FRAME OR WHAT EVER !!! Why do you ask, THIS STOPS YOUR WIRING FROM CONTINUALLY DOING THE "WIGGLE TEST" WHILE YOU RIDE UNTIL YOU GET A "MYSTERY WIRING PROBLEM" !!! "MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!!" |
