Best looking S2 ever! They should have made them all like that instead of borrowing from the Liberace collection of colors. Any more pics or information on that bike? |

That is a sweet looking bike. As much as I've liked black on my vehicle colors it never even occurred to me to paint my S2 black! Guess I'm just not very creative... |

This 1995 S2 was built for Hal's to go racing with. The paint was straight black (no pearl blue overcoat that the Black Sapphire bodywork received), and the frame and swingarm were also black. (Thanks 1313) Thanks for the email and posting those pictures Rex, I just did not have the time to do it but since I am confined to a bed on pain pills for now (back problems again) I have been getting caught up on my Internet activities LOL. In 1997 Buell came out with the Amazon Green S3 but there is a 95 S2 running around with Amazon Green bodywork that was a test case for the S3 color combo. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Buell_S2_Thunderbolt_owners/ |

the Liberace collection of colorsYeah but they grow on you. The only color combo I was never a fan of was the orange frame and the blue bodywork on the S3. Too close to Bronco colors. Yellow Jacket Pearl, Ice White Pearl and Black Sapphire Pearl look best with a white frame IMHO. I do like the black frame and black body work but my favorite is the charcoal gray frame and the quicksilver metallic body work. Of course it is the color of both of my S2Ts so I may be biased.

"Yeah but they grow on you". Don't see that ever happening! As soon as I saw my S2, I loved everything about it except for the white frame/pearl white body parts (oh, and the sidestand!). I even have the pearl purple (I know there are "cute" names for this color that do not have purple in it, but come out of denial and admit it's pearl PURPLE LOL!) body parts...that color is not quite as bad, but still bad. Seeing the black/black bike fortifies my decision to make mine black/black |

Oh, BTW Frank, nice bike! I like that color scheme too...If mine was charcoal gray frame and the quicksilver metallic body work I wouldn't be thinking of taking it apart to paint it! (Message edited by trouble_enabler on January 09, 2010) |
