I thought I read on here somewhere that some ACE hardware stores have a machine that can cut a Barrel key. That's assuming you just want a copy and have an original still. Most people recommend just buying a new ignition switch from American Sport Bike, they are supposed to be superior to the factory original. The only down side is that your ignition key and your steering lock key will be different. |

Jim, are you sure the steering lock has specific tumblers? I understood the gas caps are not keyed to any specific barrel key, and I thought perhaps the steering lock would be the same - don't know for sure, though. If they are not specifically keyed like the ignition, then it wouldn't matter. I guess if you have a few different tubers in the garage, you could check. |

You mean that my Buell key is like a master skeleton key? I don't know much about barrel keys and locks as I've never tried to pick those. I unfortunately only have one bike, glad it's a tuber. |

I'm fairly sure each key is for the ignition/tank/steering lock (specific). And I bought some spares and they are about 15-20 for each copy from Buell. |

That's what I thought but I have read that the gas caps are pretty easy to unlock with another key. Maybe they have some that are specific and some that are not. |

BUELLers: You key number should have been written in you HAND BOOK or you should have written it down and kept in a safe place ... If you have a spare or want a spare key, a good lock smith shop can make you a spare ... If not, with the key number a dealer can get you a spare key or it can also be done off your motor number ...
