The solution to the throttle problem, or lack of one to be right, was to fit a Robymoto quick action one. I love it too. Beautifully made. Comes in several choices of colour, and with several different cams to suit how quick you want to go. I went with black anodised, and the quickest cam of all. What was a 180 deg twist is now only 90 deg.

There were other issues to deal with. The use of a banjo bolt with pressure switch for the front brake light. Custom made cables as the Buell adjusters don't fit Robymoto. I engaged the services of Venhill cables in the UK. The best in the business. Took their advice and went with a stainless steel 1.25mm wire inside a self lubricating Teflon sleeve in black outer. At the carb end, HSR42 in my case, I used some of the Buell cable components in the modified cable which Venhill took care of. So I sat there and studied the cable. Drew it out on A4 and sent it and the Buell cable to Venhill, and a few days later my new cable arrived with the promise of if it isn't right send it back with more info and we'll keep doing it until we get it right. No extra cost. Well, it was right first time coz I drew it right!!!

And around just short of £700 I like it loads. The next upgrade is finding a pair of mirrors I think will suit the rest of the handlebar bling, and the rest of the bike. Not proving easy. More so given it will mean using stand alone mirror mounts. It's all a matter of taste.

Then there was the painting in your garage under the watchful eye of Ron the neighborhood drunk sniffing the lacquer fumes!!!

And Bob B., black from head to toe from polishing the parts I made for Smith Brothers and Fetrow all night; with the occasional part ricocheting around the shop when a part would “get away” from him.

Maybe I will dig out pics of some parts from the softail that could be food for thought on the Buells, like the triple trees, mini indictor dash, and pulley machining.

Guys - Thanks for the compliments on the parts! I will post updates when I can get back out in the shop to play.

Good stuff boys. Rocket, you may want to try the Oberon bar end mirrors. I run them on my X1 and my Nortons. Not cheap, but effective and neat. The only problem I've had is the quality of the backing on the glass. They tend to discolour at the edges. I'll get new glass cut shortly.

ok, so i have been playing with posting images from photo bucket because the old way was a pain.. so we will see if these look nicer..
to start i thought i would post some images of the shifter assembly, rear brake lever and billet foot pegs i made..

ok so here are a couple quick shots of the billet shift set up for my s2t,,


these images were from test fitting the billet pegs i made so they are just on with quick pins and bolt dropped threw so i could pivot them.. the stainless shoulder bolts that went in them when they were finished had not arrived yet..

here you can see the billet brake lever i made with the pegs,, you can also see that the rear master cylinder is polished and where the resivor attches is billet instead of plastic.. my plastic piece was very porous and leaked, one day a big chunk just popped out and there went all my rear break fluid..that plastic piece can not be ordered so they were going to make my purchase a whole new rear master cylinder,, so i just made a replacement out of billet .



these were some of the pegs in process


and a couple quick images of the whole bike, that completed shifter assembly weights less than just the vertical stock cast piece that went form the shifter shaft up.

hope you like but my fingers are throbbing for now.. from the snowy tundra,,

Rickie--unless I'm mistaken, this is one of yours, isn't it?





You were kind enough to share some tips with me when I was making a solo seat for my S2. I've still got a print of that orange bike hanging in the lid of my tool box. It's beautiful.

I eventually finished the solo seat:





but never really liked the way it felt, it didn't let me move around on longer rides. Jay Howse in Austin (buellerthanyou) has it last I heard.

I stand in awe of some of the stuff you guys have done!

hey Aaron,
did you update the rear Brembo master on your S2 or on that model it came stock?
I'm putting a Brembo rear master too on my S1, curious to know from you if you noticed the difference compared to the Nissin one...

Thanks for the tip on the mirror Ken. It's not visible in any of my pic's, but it's there. I love the Oberon stuff. I've not suffered any of the glass problems you speak of with mine, and I find it works really well visibly for being so small.

I also have the Oberon billet tax disc holder and their front signals which show LED's from front and rear aspects.

Rickie, for the price the ISR stuff is unbelievable quality, as a man of your talents would appreciate.

Tom - I remember your questions on my multicolored S2 body. I can handle a two-tank ride (350 miles) with my solo body befor I need a break. If I am going to do more than that a day, I switch to the two unit

The orange bike was built by me for Kevin Meath. I also painted the bike and his helmet. Kev was just refering to the bike here earlier today.

I just visited it in NC last month, I miss that bike!!!!!

It made me think I should post the bodywork as a "Cool Part" Maybe tomorrow...

italian job,, that was stock on the bike,, but was powder coated the same color as the side plate it is bolted to.. the s2 and s2t came with a brembo rear master and caliper..
some people complain about not enough rear "stopping power" i have never really had a problem and have always found the rear brembo set up to be about perfect for the bike.. the best addition i found to the rear braking set up was stainless lines.. they made a noticeable difference with much improved feel.
