RT - I acknowledge not qualifying that statement with a “competent” welder…but “i” thought you knew!!! BTW, welding cast aluminum is one of the things I farm out to a guy that does it all day long; he used to build and re-arc aluminum semi trailers. I do not consider myself competent in that area of welding and would have the same puddles as you would. Thanks for the compliments guys. Brad - I would not consider myself a master of anything, just a “Jack of some trades”. You just have to make sure I am around to stop by. |

OT, but I thought I'd make a comment about that header. It looks like it copies an older tuber Force exhaust at the rear headpipe and a newer tuber Force pipe at the front headpipe. Just an observation. Still looks sick though. |

Where's the bolt-on aluminum sub-frame? On another thread, everybody's looking for one of those rear brake mounts, and then you just flaunt it right in our faces. Looks so easy, what machine is used to make it, 'just' a milling machine? |

Hey Mees, Ross, and anyone else interested…… So, I know it has been a few years since I posted any updates on this project. I have continued to work on it over the last eight years between all the priorities that take precedence in life. I now have very few distractions and have been working on the S&M 2 for a couple months to finish it up. These pics from a couple days ago show the final mockup for plumbing and wiring. The plumbing is complete with the exception of the clutch and yesterday I started dissecting the stock harness for adapting it to the relocation of all the major components under the fuel tank cover.

So glad you are still working on this bike. There is some great creative stuff in this entire thread. Talented machinist too. Please keep the updates coming! |

Well Brankin, I’m sorry you had to endure Kevin relaying our exploits of what we did to...and for...each other over the last 45 years in a single weekend; that’s some time you’re never going to get back! I hope there was good food and some cocktails involved. I guess we’re brothers from different mothers.....love the guy to death! Wait till you see the body for this bike.... or did he already show you?!?! |

Wait till you see the body for this bike.... or did he already show you?!?! I saw nothing! He spoke like it was a top secret project so I didn't pres him for any info. I thoroughly enjoyed my long weekend visiting Kevin (and CB)! Enjoyed it IMMENSELY! Food and beers were GREAT! Can't wait until next year so I do it again! |
