I've got electrical gremlins and have been chasing wires, checking continuity and cleaning grounds for days. When I had my motor apart I damaged one of the black plastic tabs on the back of the ignition pickup, didn't think much of it, put it back together and it ran...until now. I'm not extremely familiar with how the pickup works, just know that it picks up signal from the spinning timing cup just behind it. Would breaking off the lower of the two tabs keep it from getting a signal. It's been ridden approx. 100+ miles since the breakage but I'm not getting any spark from the plugs. I've triple checked almost everything, even bought a new coil but that wasn't the culprit. If this turns out to be it it's only about $25.00 but I'd like some input as to what those tabs actually do. Thanks in advance. |
