How many M2 were rolled off the assembly line? I have only seen two others on the road in the past three years and I'm only 10 miles from the home base in East Troy WI.

I wonder. Look in the FSM and it is the last 6 Digits. It is quite confusing.

Yeah, the numbers Rex, 4dwuds, Daveswan, and myself have given don't make sense when you look at the year of our M2's. 4dwuds is listed as a '97 cyclone and mine is a '00. Rex's is also a '97.

Confusing to me.

Yep, the logical progression of numbers does not make sense with the years produced. There must be a trick to figuring out the vin numbering system and whose was made first or last.

it's # ____ of that model year.... if anybody has a parts book for their bike it breaks down the vin on the second page:
mz is the manuf. code (buell)
ks is the model code (m2) i think it's ls for m2l
11 is the engine code (56 for cali.)
j is the hp code (91 at the crank)
x is the model year (1999) 0 1 2 for 2000 etc.
and the last digits are the sequential code
300001 would be the first bike of the model year unless it's a california model it would be 320001 etc.

So it is for the model year then the last 6 digits tell how many that year? OK then my 01 M2L is 325077. It has to be all the different models and not just the M2's. My # would be 25,077. 1 answer equals more questions.
