95 fenders have holes that are for allen pinch bolts for axle and thicker fender and shaped different than 96 I think Frank I may be wrong.I really like 95 fender over 96. |

I guess in the early days they may not have thought about the holes that are a part of the fender mount. I have seen them with holes and without. I am not an authority and that is speculation on my part. I can tell you this. On number 35 I have to drop the front wheel to get the fender off. With the front wheel off the holes are not needed. The two 96 S2Ts I have are not like that. I can take the front fender off no problem. Those fenders are not as thick either. It looks that the early 95 fenders (I have two or three with and without holes) are much thicker and do not bend very well. I like them but prefer the ones on my 96 S2s for easy maintenance. No matter. I bet the Buell guys figured out it would be easier to have two well placed holes in the fender to aid getting the damn thing off.

The way that I tell the fender differences: look at where they bolt to the fork lower. The yellow one has a hole to stick an Allen in there and unbolt it. This is because the frontside of the flap is layed in front of the bolt, giving it a rounder low-profile. Somewhere between 700 and 814 they changed that. My #814 had a much stiffer fiberglass fender that could not be bent hardly at all. But the flap was not over the bolt hole either, so I could get the Allen off without using a hole. It's the later one that is stiff and not as smooth. My American Sport Bike carbon fender is shaped like the earlier ones. I'll post pics in a couple minutes. |

Edit to my last post: the early round style may be even stiffer than the latter that was on my S2; I have not seen one to compare. My Carbon Fiber S2 fender is really fexible and light in comparison though, lol. |

Frank I wonder if the guy from the museum is wondering why he has a lot of interest in his S2 all of a sudden! |

Thats a sweet looking S2 What do you think of the Shinko tires? Thinking of trying them on my Buell's. Cheers Jodie |

Jodie, Thanks! I have been using the Shinko tires on all three of my Buells. I'm happy with them for their price. They do need to warm up a bit, but they are the Raven 009 Sport touring tire so the compound is harder for wear. They have been wearing well on my Firebolt, which has the most miles on them yet, and the S3 has 2K plus two up miles on a pair and they are also holding up well. I expect to get as good a mileage out of them as the Michelin Pilot Roads I was using. (Message edited by gowindward on August 08, 2009) |

Ross is spot on. I scored a NOS tail and tank cover. She is looking really clean for a 13 year old scooter. All I need now is a NOS fairing. |

Ugly, isn't it? I do not know why it is two tone. I picked it up yesterday from a guy that bought it a week ago to use the motor for a chopper. Number 304 |

Calling that ugly is an insult to ugly! Nice that you could save one, though. Ya know, I think I have an extra (or two) of everything that your doesn't. Let me know if it gets in the way. |

Frank, neat project....talk about a blank canvas! The first Buell I ever saw was a yellowjacket S2. I'd build it with yellowjacket bodywork, silver or nickel plated frame, and either polished wheels or PM's. |
