I tried to be an obedient badwebber and posted this in the Knowledge Vault but no-one ever responds over there. Anyone have the measurements of these two bars? Search shows a lot on m2 and aftermarket but I can't find X1. Wrists bother me after a long ride and I need basically the same height but pushed further out, as in not as much pullback. Thanks.

I found that the motocross bars at the local bike shop had less pull back, not enough for me and they caused wrist pain, but if the stock angle is uncomfortable maybe they are just the ticket for you... Start with Renthals, they seem to be a common swap, 'bout half the cost of new bars from the dealer too, can't believe they want $60+ for tubular 7/8ths bars.

I've read that the Ducati Monster bars are a good swap too, may be somewhat lower, not sure of the pull back.

Beachbuell is in need of some stock M2 bars due to a tip over, so if you're done with yours I'm sure he'd appreciate a hook up.

I rode a new Monster 696 to Austin back in May and I liked those, but they were lower. Are they 7/8? I don't want to be leaning waaay over, I have a Corbin on there that sits me further back, so I think height should remain about the same, just less of an angle back.

Yup, 7/8. I've been trying different bars on my bike since I bought it, I finally settled on the Crossroads, while they are lower they ave been pretty much perfect for the type of riding I do, angle is right and the wind helps keep weight off my wrists on the freeway.

Good luck, hopefully you'll find the right bars faster than I did.

Those new Monsters are sharp looking bikes, fun ride?

I will say the (upside down) club mans you gave me mike are not bad at all! I used to have pain in my thumbs using the stock bars but these work well! my hands still go numb but at a slower rate and no thumb pain at all!

Glad they are working for you Russ!

Dave, the clubman's have a pretty comfortable, and surprisingly neutral position in the "up" position that Russ is talking about(sweep is a bit more down than back); and they clear the M2 tank nicely (which can be a real issue with some bars, such as the X1's that will make contact with the tank, or so I'm told). They were not nearly sporty enough for me.

Check out Russ's thread with pics:

Bonus, they're only like $25 from the local general motorcycle accessory shop.
