I think my wheels are the factory cast wheels. Is their another model wheel that fits, or do I just get paint or powdercoat? (Message edited by YO_MUDA on August 20, 2009) |

Woah another tube frame guy in Oklahoma! I'm in Del City.. Swing by some time. I'll show you both possible styles of tuber wheels. PM (stands for Performance Machine - the company that made them) Also screams Polish Me! These wheels are forged aluminum instead of cast, and were sold with a polished finish which looks good but requires a lot of work to maintain the shine. The cast wheels are more common, and all came from the factory with some type of powdercoating, although a few people have stripped the PC off and polished them - they look AMAZING when polished. Shot you a PM (private message - not Performance Machine ) |

Pkforbes Do you have any pics of the stripped and polished stock wheels? Would this be a simple disc grinder type of job with a polishing wheel? |

No idea what sort of process is required to reach this point.. I've taken all my polishing to a shop.
btw, the last bike pictured is a modified X1 that was used in the movie Ghost Rider. I believe Preybird owns one of the movie bikes, or has access to one anyway. You might try asking him if he has any detailed pictures of the wheels. |

As for Yo_muda's question.. there's also the option of swapping to XB wheels. It's been done by a few people here on BWB, but I know very little about what's required.

Just for curiosity are the XB wheels lighter than tuber wheels? |
