Ok I took off the tail section to paint it, when I reinstalled it the brakelight won't work !!! I've checked the switches, wiring ect. now this is the weird part: I have power to the bulb contact untill I install the bulb then the contact goes dead!!! so I grabbed the light assy from the Mrs's Blast and it does the same thing !!! So I'm confused... any thougts?

How about unplugging the connector and do a continuity check thru the pigtail and bulb holder. Just as a first check.

Might be the wrong bulb.

I know there are some that are very similar and will work sometimes but if you move it around will not connect.

The tail/brake light socket on the Buells are a piece of garbage and frequently go on the blink. If you have power to the terminals, I suggest you pull the bulb, clean the contacts (solder points) and then check to see if the brass contacts have lost tension (sprung). They can usually be bent back with the bulb removed to give sufficient tension to last a little while, but will ultimately fail again. I've been through this 3X with my Cyclone.
