How normal is this on an 02. I though they had the bubbling figured out before then.

Chances are that is not the original paint if it's bubbling. |

I haven't bought it yet. That appears to be the only problem with the bike. It only has 2800 miles. It isn't local, so cant go by anything other than pictures. The price is $3500. Anybody else think it may be a repaint? If it was repainted and it didnt bubble, I wouldn't mind, but if it is bubbling now, what will it do down the road? BTW, it has pm wheels, V&H pipe and a really nice Buell seat. Is it worth buying at that price with the tank like that? Thanks, Jimmy |

I agree with Kilroy, I'd say it is a repaint. I'd guess the fuel filler flange was removed during painting and not sealed with hylomar when it was reinstalled. It isn't going to get any better, so you are looking at a different tank or another repaint down the road. If you like the bike, it's at least grounds for some negotiating. |
