I've got a 2002 Volcano Gray Cyclone with a blazing orange frame. My bike is a low, and it just occurred to me that every M2 that I have seen in that color combination has also been a low. The only difference I've noticed is that some have orange wheels and some have PM wheels. Does anybody have one, or know of one, in this color combination that is a standard M2 (and always has been....not converted)? Just curious.....

Dunno about that...but I know Kim's Volcano Gray M2L has a black frame, not orange. I WISH it was orange..... |

My M2L was originally grey with orange frame. Previous owner bought black plastics for it after he dropped it in his garage. Kinda happy I prefer black |

What pulley are you running? The Sharktooth or the PM one? I've seen other M2L's in different colors though. But I have the same as you. =) (Message edited by brinnutz on July 10, 2009) |

I'm in the Volcano Grey/Blazing Orange M2L club too. Mine came with the orange wheels and I picked up a second set through eBay shortly after I got the bike. When I bought the bike the seller didn't even mention that it was an M2L. I found out when researching the VIN number. M2Ls are relatively low production bikes. I'll have to post a pic soon. $1,500+ in CF parts and some custom fab'd items. Safe ride, Gary in Oaktown |

I've got a sharktooth pulley on the Cyclone. I've never wanted to add all the little Buell accessories to my bikes, but this one had LOTS on it when I bought it. I figure, it's kind of the premier M2, so I might as well go with it. I'd still like to add some head bolt covers, a billet fork brace, and a pegasus seat. Brin, is yours coming back together?

Damn, you're running a 160 rear on there? WOW, never seen that before. I've got me one of those pulleys. =) I wanted to keep my bike all stockish, but said screw it, I'm going all out. I'm not going to the point of cutting the frame and stock plastic or anything. Just making it faster and louder. Making it more mine. Once I get some cams, and the pinion locking tool I'll be good to go to start putting the motor back together...That's the Revolution 1250 kit one piece cylinders, XB style pistons, XB heads. For now though, I just found a set of X1 cams until I can afford SE .536 cams, Revolution lifters, updated oil pump drive gear, updated XB oil pump with larger scavenge. Need to get stainless oil lines made. Then it's off to pressing out the old bearings in the polished swingarm I have and pressing in new ones. Need to press the races into the steering head yet. Then rebuilding the calipers, stainless rear line, USD forks with polished triples, new front rotor, need to get matching rear rotor, need a motor mount for XB heads, replace all iso's, install the Racewinder I just picked up, mount the full D&D exhaust, install the Works shock, Sharktooth pulley, Banke rearsets, new PM wheels with new Pirelli's, Mikuni 42 Flatslide, NRHS billet pushrod bases, Crossroads billet breather (just for looks though hehe, since the XB's don't breathe out of the breather bolts), Banke threaded oil cap for the plastic tank, and god knows what else I have to do yet. |

It does have a 160 Conti on the rear. It was on it when I got it...I'm not sure if the PO thought it would be even lower with a 160, or what. I bought a 170 to replace it, but the 160 is in such good shape I'd like to wear some of the tread off before removing it. Brin, your Cyclone ought to be amazing when it's finished. I can't wait to see it. With all those take-off parts and your private stash of all things Buell, you ought to put a second bike together. |

Aw damn. I have 3 bikes and a blue 2001 M2L but I need a gray/orange M2L buell. I just need to figure out how to get one and keep the purchase from my wonderful Wife till I can figure out how to explain my perverse needs. |

Mine will hopefully be done before the riding season is over here... Mine will be one bad ass M2L... Just dropped the stock motor mount off to an amazing machinist so he can modify it and brace it for the XB head install... |

Rich, it looks like you are the lucky winner! Just to be sure it's a standard M2, check your vin....it should have KS (as in 4MZKS...), where the low bikes have LS. Brin, I'm looking forward to seeing updates as your Cyclone goes back together. |

Bsanorton that looks like an M2L off hand with an M2 seat. And as 80rs427 has said is it a KS or LS. All things said I have to sell 1 bike before I can get an M2L grey/orange. |

Yepp, that would be a standard gray and orange M2 then. I guess MOST in that color combination appear to be lows. |

M2L sheet: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2002models/2 002models-Buell-CycloneM2Low.htm M2 sheet: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2002models/2 002models-Buell-CycloneM2.htm S3T sheet: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2002models/2 002models-Buell-ThunderboltS3T.htm Interesting that the S3T color is Blaze Orange rather than Blazing Orange as with the M2/M2L. Knew a guy with the S3T in that combo. Very nice! Gary in Oaktown M2L G&O w/ extra orange stuff |
