Make sure you say "yut uhh" when you are clutching. That makes the front end instantly come up. |

Why do you want to wheelie anyway? The bike won't turn with the front wheel up and the fastest acceleration is attained with the wheel just skimming the pavement. Wheelies are avoided by drag racers and practiced by stunters (showoffs). If you want a unicycle.... sounds like the 16 year old kids who would rather burn rubber than hook up and go.... ...just the musings of an old man who has been there and done that I guess. Have fun...whatever. Just don't hurt yourself. |

when i hit 3 grand i just let off and hit the throttle and one wheel achieved. I thought it was pretty cool but the cop thought I was showing off. He didn't by it that it was a accident but was heading somewhere and didnt have time to wright a ticket. Whatever you do, make shure you have your right foot ready to use the back brake!!! |

Here in Florida, we have a new law that provides for a $1,000.00 fine for any moped, scooter, or motorcycle operator who allows the front wheel to leave contact with the ground (wheelie) for even a brief moment. That law was passed because the public got sick of being frightened by kids, and adults acting like kids, on sportbikes who regularly practiced high-speed wheelies and other stunts in traffic. Now, if I inadvertently roll on a bit too much throttle and my front comes up so the LEO can see even a sliver of daylight under my front tire, even for a moment, it can cost me $1,000.00. Yes, I am pissed at the jerks who brought this down on all of us by showing off in public and now we all are paying the price for their bravado and self-centered stupidity. And yes, my S3T will lift the front wheel effortlessly with just a roll-on. It's no big deal, it just happens. But now that could cost me $1,000.00. Want to wheelie or ride around with seriously loud pipes? Go to the race track before you screw it up for everyone. |

Boy it is nice to live in a rural area! I can wheelie the whole 25 mile trip home from work if I want! |

it's all common sense, which alot of people lack. There is a time and a place for it and doing 70 down the highway in traffic is neither of those. We have the same type of laws in Wisconsin. We have plenty of county roads here where if you go down you will only hurt yourself and not take others with you. |

If you have to ask - you probably need to attend some riding schools to get your skills up before you even think of it. Even then - stick to closed courses for this kind of thing. That said - the funniest wheelie story I've ever heard happened just north of me here in Wisconsin. A guy on his jap-rocket decided to open her up since its a very straight shot and quite smooth. Around 100 mph he decided it would be fun to bring the front end up. Just over 120 mph is when.... no he didn't crash - the cop clocked him. He was cited for "loss of control". That's the part that makes me giggle, because anyone that rides a bike knows it takes a hell of a lot of control to do a wheelie at those speeds. Granted I dont condone the act - but it still made me laugh. |
