I have a 2000 X1 When you put the wheel back on do you guys use the stock Loctite antiseize lubricant, or do you use something else? My friend uses Bel Ray waterproof grease on his Suzuki... any thoughts, suggestions, personal favorites? And is red loctite necessary for the caliper mounts? |

A dab of either will work fine, I use Lubriplate #105 myself. FSM says red 262 for caliper bolts. |

I use BelRay waterproof grease and have for years its great stuff. For the caliper bolts I use red loctite which seems to work OK. |

BelRay is good stuff. I use what ever waterproof grease I have around at the time for the axle. For the caliper bolts I use blue locktite. I only use the red locktite only on parts that I don't ever want to take off again. |

+1 ^^^^ What Tdman said exactly. I don't use red because I change tires about as often as most people change oil. |

Permatex anti-seize on the axles, nothing on the caliper bolts but I check them and lots of other bolts every time I ride. So far no problems, other than tonight on my way back from a bike night my right peg bolt started backing out. |

I use some grease that I got at Walmart for the axle, and nothing but safety wire on the caliper bolts. |
