I got new bars and I'm having trouble getting the two halves of the throttle to come together. It seems like the cable ramp won't go all the way in the front half. I had a problem with it last time too. Is there a trick that I don't know about? |

Does the new bar have a hole for the throttle assemble to seat into? Joe |

That dang piece seems to take 3 men and a small boy to assemble correctly, persevere and it will go together. That ramp piece slots in correctly in only one way,be sure it is stuck in correctly. |

yeah it has a hole on the bar. I worked on it for about 30 minutes but will keep trying. Wow that makes you feel stupid and frustrated. I never even took the ramp out. IDK |

it took me a while, but i figured out that it is that white piece that guides the cables (the ramp?) i made sure the cables were in their respective slots/homes then i used a small flat head screwdriver to push the white piece (ramp?) down while squeezing the halves together so that it fit into its slot on the front half and it went together perfectly, maybe I got lucky on the one hundreth try? |

I dread having to take those damn things apart because they are a major pain to put back together. There's got to be a secret to it, but I haven't found it yet. rt |

It is really easy to get them backward and after finally getting them together you find out roll on is off. |

BUELLers: If you pay close attention to how it came apart, putting it back together will be easy ... MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!! |

Not so Buellistic, the old ones SUCK. The kicker for me was the S1 I rebuilt, when I finally got all the parts together the damn throttle would stick! Seems the little white ramp part was too worn. I gave up and put on the new style controls... Brad |

Bluzm2: If you or who ever had the bike did not do the PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE(this stuff is not in the FACTORY MOTORS MANUAL) it pre-maturely wears out ... "i" do agree on doing up-dates on parts as there was a reason for the factory to up-date ... MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!! |

I just rebuilt an S1, the ramp was deeply grooved on the "pull" side. I built it back up with JB Weld--we'll see how it holds up. rt |
