I noticed that the S2 seemed to lean over further than my S! before it settled on the sidestand. The sidestand is sloppy where it mounts to the bolt that attaches it to the side plates. While i plan to take it apart this weekend and see what I can do about it, I was wondering if others had run into this? Is there a replaceable bushing in the sidestand? |

The S2 was born ti lean, even while standing still. They are all like that from the factory. Ask around about the kickstand bend that will help rectify the situation so you can see it from another angle . |

Hi Ross, what do you mean about a sidestand bend? |

I found the thread with Aaron's pics of what he did. Thanks Ross. Steve |

The sidestand is steel and the side plate is aluminum. The side plate gets hogged out over time by the side stand. |

Later model S2's had a stainless insert pressed into the left side plate that a replaceable insert was threaded into. This helped a lot with sloppy sidestand syndrome. I have it on my S2 however I still always park my S2 in 1st gear, 1313 |

I plan on pulling mine off this week and taking a look. While it is off I will bend it a bit along the lines of what Aaron has done. I bought a set of Pilot Road 2s and a new set of bearings. Those are nice tires for these things. Steve |

I've got the last set of custom sideplates from Al at American Sport Bike, and they use an X1/S1/S3/M2 sidestand. Pricey...but worth every nickel in my book. I am noticing a little hogging, though - I need to pull the left one off and machine a steel plate for the top edge of the sidestand channel, but my stand lean angles are still nothing like the stocker LOL. You're gonna love the PR2's. I've got 3k on mine and they still look brand new. Can't wait for my S1W to go through it's D208s so I can get a set for it, too. |
