so I've got this '97 S3 frame and plastics that needs to be revived, and I've got a complete '00 X1 minus plastics to use for parts. I've been told that the aluminum swingarm from the '00 X1 won't be a direct fit onto the '97 S3, but what if I use the mounting block from the X1 as well? Where is there difference in dimensions? Is the difference in the rear isolator mounts on the frame or are they in the mounting block? I would think that I could just use the mounting block from the X1, and bolt it directly into the S3 frame. Doesn't really matter to me which swingarm I end up using, I just think the shape of the aluminum one looks a little better. Thanks for the advice guys. I was going to use a aluminum swingarm on my 97 cyclone until i won a cf hugger for dirt cheap for the steel one. |

DIFFERENCES: Aluminum swingarm is STRONGER and lighter than a 97 strengthen swingarm ... |

Right now I'm paying it off Soon as I have the title lien-free I plan on selling the frame. I've had a couple people show interest already without me advertising it. |
