From what I can tell there are/were several seats available for the 2000' M2 Cyclone. -Stock M2 -Stock M2L -Buell custom -Corbin Gunfighter -Corbin Lady Gunfighter w/backrest Is it just the Corbin's that have color piping? What is the Buell custom? Are there any that I missed? |

The seat I have is a stock seat but the strap that I normally see between the rider and passenger is not on my seat. Instead there is a strap at the narrow of the seat below the gas tank. It doesn't look like a mod. It seems quite comfortable but I don't have a whole lotta time on it. Has anyone seen a seat like this? |

Post a pic of your strap. It sounds like it might be a strap for either a tank bag, or a bra. Or...it's just in the wrong place for some reason. |

It's pretty fuggly right now. I'm guessing that someone moved it to maybe have a slightly lower seat height, or it was recovered.

I wonder if the strap you speak of is the protective tape that lost its adhesive ability. Can you see staples? I guess I need to buy another Gunfighter to have the full collection. I sold the one I had, stupid me. But at one time I had all 5 seats. Now just 4, LOL And I have 2 for the older Cyclones. Stock and G&L. =) Oh, and I've got an extra G&L I'm hopefully going to sell soon (Black Piping)...cheap too. Damn, I have a lot. LOL |

Yea, there are staples and they look just as corroded as the rest of them. Can't tell for sure but the ends might be rough cut. There is a paper tag next to the one end of the strap that is also stapled to the seat back. There is no writing that I can see but it's old and brittle.

That strap placement is...uh...interesting. Looks like a stock strap, that was relocated forward. Maybe to give the "boys" more room? Or, as noted above, to "lower" the seat a bit? Very strange... |

I think Al at American Sport Bike has the spacers needed to get it to fit coreectly and that's it. |

LONG STORY! first i machined too much off the outside of the M2 caliper hanger, then made 2 flanged steel bushings for the wheel bearings and discovered the "too much" part when the disk wouldn't clear. so then removed the stock bushing from the caliper hanger and made a new one for the other side of it. may have trimmed the hanger some on inside too but can't remember now. then drilled the xb bolt pattern into the M2 sprocket. 5 holes going to 6 so end up with one Siamesed hole. didn't have late model xb sprocket so don't know if enough adjustment for belt to reach, but didn't want to gear that low anyway. if al has the spacers do it that way!!! |
