Well, nobody wants to by my X1 so I decided to keep it and mod it... I have decided to go with the standard stuff - 1250 kit, stage 2 heads and cams for more low/mid range (exact ones not decided on yet)and some ECM tuning so I can keep the FI. Anyone here have any tips or experience that they want to throw in? btw- One well known performance shop reccomended an enlarged throttle body, the other didn't what do most people do that go this route? Which 1250 kit are you going with? Revolution's or the cheaper one? Here's what I'm doing to mine: 1. XB Heads 2. Revolution Performance 1250 Nikasil Kit. 3. Billet Motor Mount for XB heads on a Tuber 4. Mikuni 42mm 5. XB Rockerboxes 6. Screamin Eagle .536 cams 7. Billet Pushrod bases |

The cheaper one. Can't mention the non-sponser. Looks like you are doing a nice build; stock XB heads or worked? I am thinking about getting a used set of heads and reworking them to reduce down time and then selling mine after the build. I know you have a big selection of parts- you don't have any nice, gently used heads to sell do ya? |

I'll tell you that the ones from Revolution Performance are a lot lighter than the other ones. I'm just using stock heads for now, later or someday reworking them. I don't have any heads laying around as I already sold them to get an S2 back on the road (it's going to have some balls). |

I will mention them NRHS. I used there kit and also had them personally install the parts. I would have the throttle body bored out as you do need more air after the motor work. Since i was keeping the fuel injection on the bike, I went with the HD Xl heads they have the same porting as the xb heads but the breather holes make a perfect mounts for the the throttle body and provide more support. |

Hmm. Third builder says 1250 kit with stage 2 porting and nothing else. Confusing. But I like the price. Wonder how much performance I would lose vs my first choice of including cams and maybe TB porting? Anyone care to guess? |
