After a long day of Patriot Guard Rider events and ride I wanted to make sure I give a big THANK YOU for all the Vets and current Military here on BadWeb. The sacrifice you have made and are making is greatly appreciated. PKforbes Brinnutz and all the members who are serving and have served. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. THANK YOU!!!

I've come to accept the fact that in the military, we each just do what we're assigned to do (even if that means being confined to the central time zone), but I'm especially thoughtful today of all deployed service members. A good friend of mine, practically a brother, deployed to Afghanistan on Thursday for a scheduled 12 month deployment. His Iraq deployment last time turned into 15 months and I'm sure his wife and 2yo son would like to have him back sooner than that this time. |

Agreed Phil... Granted I'm not full time anymore(I miss it, but at least I'm somewhat still a part of it, lolweekendwarrior), I enjoy it and wouldn't trade a thing...Hell, I'm just hoping once school is done I can get my tour in! =) There are several other members, F_skinner I know off the top of my head, and damnit I can't remember any other. Tom, thanks... and hows that dash working out? |

I've never been in the service myself but I never miss an opportunity to thank anyone who is or who has been for the sacrifices they have made so that we can enjoy the freedom we live in. I may be too old to join now and I might not agree with what the fighting is about sometimes but I support every man and woman in uniform and the jobs they are asked to do. |

"...I might not agree with what the fighting is about..." Some of us in uniform don't agree with it either, but men with more experience and a better view of "the big picture" make those decisions. I just follow orders. "When we assumed the Soldier, we did not lay aside the Citizen." George Washington |

After rereading, I guess my post sounded a little defensive. It wasn't intended that way. Thank you very much to you and all others who support the uniform despite disagreeing with the mission. |

Phillip - You are right on point. I served 2 tours myself. I can understand that sometimes the mission seemed F.U.B.A.R but we all gave our best to accomplish the mission. Again Thank you vets and active duty personnel. |

I think some of the reason I do what I do now is to make up for the fact that I did not serve like I now wish I had. I can't thank those that do enough. |
