I spoke with Al Lighton today since I am looking for a set of bars which will move my hands forward and down while riding. He explained clearly how challenging it was to find a set that will fit between the tank and faring from lock to lock. Al was unable to recommend a product for me.

Have any of you had success in finding bars for your S3?

I just added a set of 'euro bars' to my S3. They are a factory part and still available. You WILL need to also add a set of fork bumpers (also a factory part and still available) to keep the bars from hitting the tank. It's a nice set up and doesn't require any change in the lines and cables. Bar is about $75 and the bumpers will set you back about $15.

DW: Can I trouble you for a picture of them? The price sounds very reasonable.
Thanks,

I'd like to see a pic of your factory Euro bars setup too.

Buellistic:
What do you mean when you say it's an easy Retro fit? Is it simply a matter of bolting the X1/M2 handlebars on or are other parts needed to accommodate the change?

Did you find the change in body position with the X1/M2 handlebars improved comfort or handling?

Do you have the part number handy for the X1/M2 handlebars?

Thanks for your help with this.

Xodot:

X1/M2 Handlebars on an S3: The holes in the right and left side that the control dimples go into to keep the control switch holder and throttle from twisting on the handlebar are in the right place ... "i" did take a CLAMP,handlebar to a machinist to mill flat(spacer) on one side as the handlebars need to be raised 3/4 of an inch for me ...

COMFORT and Handling:

Felt more comfortable for me and the handling suited me better as the handlebar is a little wider ...

Handlebar,S1 PN 55925-96Y has arrived and I hope to be installing it this weekend. I have the factory manual for guidance.

Are the FM directions good to follow? Any shortcuts or "whatever you do..." kind of comments???

Thanks all.
